Batteries for Man-Portable Defense Equipment: Every Gram Rides on Someone's Back
Radios, jammers, thermal optics, tactical computers, portable EW gear — the modern soldier carries more electronics than ever, and every one of them carries a battery. Add them up and power is often the heaviest thing in the pack after water. For man-portable equipment, battery engineering is not a component decision. It decides how far the equipment can go and how long it stays useful when it gets there.
What man-portable power has to get right
Weight per watt. The specification that matters most is the one nobody prints: how many grams the user carries per watt-hour delivered. High-energy-density NMC cells — and solid-state chemistry, which packs more energy per gram while removing the flammable liquid electrolyte — move that number in the right direction. So does honest pack engineering that doesn't spend the weight budget on over-built casing.
Silence and signature. Equipment worn on the body cannot hum, whine, or glow. Low-noise electronics and thermal designs that avoid hot spots keep the battery from betraying its user.
Rough handling as the normal case. A pack that is dropped, sat on, soaked, and frozen is not being abused — it is being used. Ruggedized enclosures, sealed construction, and strain-relieved wiring are baseline, and operation is rated down to −20°C. These are the same principles behind all our defense battery engineering, compressed into the smallest possible package.
Fast, simple field charging. Between patrols, packs must come back to full quickly and safely from whatever power the base has. Our smart chargers negotiate with the pack's BMS and support fast charging — with charge behavior that protects pack life rather than spending it.
State of charge you can trust. The soldier deserves better than a four-LED guess. Our smart BMS reports true state of charge and health to the equipment it powers, so "enough battery for the mission" is a fact, not a hope.
Built to your equipment, not the other way around
We engineer man-portable packs from your equipment's power profile, envelope, and connector standard — chemistry, configuration (2S to 28S), and mechanical design all follow. And where a program needs the charger and power distribution engineered alongside the pack, we supply the complete power solution from one partner, with one telemetry stack across all of it.
Made in India, carried anywhere
At Revogreen Technologies, we have delivered over 30,000 batteries for defense and strategic applications — designed and manufactured in India, with a supply chain your program can audit. If your equipment rides on someone's back, let's make its battery worth the carry.
